What To Expect at The 8th Annual NC Honey Festival in Downtown Whiteville!

National Honey Month is here and Downtown Whiteville is getting ready to host The 8th Annual NC Honey Festival on Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 3pm. This year’s festival is set to feature local beekeepers, beekeeping supplies, a farmers market, face painting, craft vendors and food vendors all in front of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville located at 415 S Madison Street. The museum will also host a children’s story time at 10:30am led by The Columbus Council of the NC Reading Association.

Additional activities include:

Mead Tasting at Farmacy on Main (110 E Main St)
Free Activity / Must be 21+

Lunch & Learn: Hive-building Class at Penn’s Grill (128 E Commerce St.)
Led by: John Deans
Start Time: 12 Noon
Free class!

Paint & Sip at the Columbus County Arts Council (822 S Madison St)
Led by: Nicole Spaulding
Start Time: 1pm
Cost: $35 includes Canvas, Brushes, Paint and Instruction
BYOM (Bring Your Own Mead)

Later in the month the NC Honey Festival will be partnering again with the Columbus County Schools system for the 2nd presentation of the NC Honey Festival Bowl Games. This year will feature one bowl game, The Honey Bowl, on Friday, September 27th at 7:30pm. The Honey Bowl will be at East Columbus High School (32 Gator Lane in Lake Waccamaw, NC) as the Gators host the Eagles of East Bladen High School.
